THE POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key leadership position that supports the overall management of the organisation leading a team of c.85 staff across Finance, IT, Compliance, Internal Audit, Investigations, Governance and Systems Improvement support.

The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that Concern's support functions operate in a way that maximises the overall effectiveness of the organisation, including that the necessary controls and effective business systems are in place to facilitate deliverables and ensure Directors and their teams are able to deliver on time, within budget, and within contractual and regulatory obligations. The role also leads the executive interaction with the Board of Concern and its subsidiary Boards relating to governance, accountability, and financial control.

REQUIREMENTS

Third-level qualified or equivalent years of professional experience, the successful candidate will have strong strategic and operational capabilities and a proven leadership track record gained in an organisation of relevant scale and complexity operating across multiple international jurisdictions. The appointee will be highly motivated with excellent judgement, communication and organisational skills coupled with the ability to lead a diverse team of finance, risk, compliance, and regulatory professionals. Experience in the international development sector would be advantageous while a commitment to the mission, vision and values of Concern is an essential requirement.

REMUNERATION

A fixed annual salary of €101,635 to €109,792 plus benefits will be on offer to the successful candidate.
